For the
fifth year in a row, LHI presents Freedom Fest, the Coulee Region’s premiere
outdoor music festival benefiting Veterans’ causes in Wisconsin. Scheduled for
Saturday, June 16 at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse Veterans Memorial
Field Sports Complex, this year’s event will celebrate its fifth anniversary
with musical performances by nationally renowned entertainers Steve Miller Band
and Foreigner, regional favorite The Remainders and the 451st Army
Band. The concert series will be preceded by the Freedom Fest Motorcycle Ride,
a tour through the Coulee Region in commemoration of Veterans.
In
between headline acts, attendees will pause to recognize the real reason for
Freedom Fest: the men and women who dedicate their lives to serving our
country. This presentation will include the award of scholarships to returning
Veterans who wish to further their education at University of Wisconsin system
schools and a moving dedication to Wisconsin’s “Fallen Heroes,” the men and
women who have given their lives in service to U.S. military, by LHI Founder
and CEO Don Weber. Family members of those honored will be in attendance for the special tribute.
All
proceeds from Freedom Fest benefit Veterans’ causes; to date, the annual event
has raised nearly $300,000. Tickets will be available for purchase starting
April 13 at area Kwik Trip stores and on the LHI Freedom Fest website at www.freedomfestlacrosse.com.
