History

The foundations of LHI began in 1987 with a company called National Health Screenings (NHS). That organization’s focus was on the administration and management of health screenings. These screenings included cholesterol, other blood, and physical health assessment services at local community sites. As the company grew, NHS developed and provided comprehensive wellness programs, including Cardiac Risk Assessments, for corporations and local communities. NHS eventually gained national recognition as the leading professional screening organization in the United States. Customers included the FBI, Smith-Kline-Beecham, Sony, Target, and United Airlines.

As the company grew, it became clear that there was much more potential in the market than for general health screenings. Therefore in 1999, the company incorporated under a new name, “Logistics Health Incorporated.”

A milestone in LHI’s growth occurred when it was asked to support the immunization of the military against anthrax, specifically within the Army Reserve and National Guard. The work would be performed under a contract known as the Federal Strategic Health Alliance (FEDS_HEAL). The FEDS_HEAL program’s potential was quickly realized by the Department of Defense, and soon-after, LHI was performing physical examinations and dental services for various branches of the military.

LHI expanded its growth in the commercial market with the addition of physical examination services for several corporate clients such as CSX Transportation.
